If you want to use a votive candle, chances are you would want to have a flameless candle as the source won't be seen anyway. However, I came across thoughts from some buyers that's worth considering. These folks would consider a flameless votive candle somewhat 'dishonest'. Too much of a pretend for a true prayer.
Sure, such strict moral adherence has its deep merits. But it may be a very mature approach too, to consider our moral approach of saving the environment. Both views are very deep seated. And if they happen to cause a clash in you - well, I am sure your own priorities will resolve the dilemma.
